Green Carpet Salting
We often see some houseplants, but almost no one knows their names. Often it is confused with nerter, because both plants are low with small leaves.

Salting belongs to the nettle family. The genus is named after the captain Soleirol, who discovered this plant. Growing, it covers the entire surface of the soil and hangs beautifully from a flowerpot. The flowers are single, small and nondescript. Leaflets are rounded, very small, about 0.5 cm. But in general, the plant is very attractive, growing rapidly. Varieties with silver and golden leaves are bred. Height - no more than 5 cm, so sometimes it is called weed. The optimum temperature for the cultivation of salt in the spring and summer is 18-25 degrees, in the winter about 20, but not lower than 10. They are placed in well-lit places, but in the summer they are shaded from direct sunlight. It also tolerates partial shade, grows well on the northern windows. Pour saline water with soft water into the pan, abundantly in spring and summer, and a little less in winter. If you forget to water it at least once, it may die.

Loves spraying very much. But in winter, in order not to provoke the development of rot, spraying is stopped. From March to September, every 2 weeks, salinity is fed with a complex fertilizer for decorative and deciduous plants. Transplanted annually in the spring in loose moist soil into shallow wide containers, since its root system is superficial. Earth mixture - 1 part of clay, sheet soil and sand. Necessarily need drainage. After 2-3 years, salinolysis loses its decorative effect, so it should be rejuvenated by planting young cuttings. It is rarely affected by pests. In leaving is unpretentious. In order not to stretch the branches, regular pinching is necessary.
Propagation of salinity in the spring during transplantation by dividing the bush or cuttings, which are placed in a moist substrate several in one pot. For better rooting, the cuttings can be covered with a glass cap or plastic bag.

This plant is often grown in terrariums and in gardens in bottles, placed in hanging vases, planted in large pots along with large plants, especially with a bare stem. Growing soleoli can interfere with the growth of other small plants. By the way, salinolysis intensively absorbs carbon dioxide and other harmful substances, while at the same time emitting a lot of oxygen.
