Murraya - the scent of health and optimism
Murraya is unusually decorative: the bush is decorated simultaneously with buds, and blossoming flowers, and unripe green berries, and ripe red fruits. It grows rapidly and is easily propagated by freshly picked seeds, and it also has healing properties. When inflorescences of snow-white flowers blossom on the murraya, the smell is as if jasmine and lemon blossomed in the middle of the room. The aroma is persistent, like a French perfume, but not intrusive. Moreover, his head does not hurt, but on the contrary, his health improves.
Scientists have found that the complex aroma of murraya has an amazing property: it makes the heart beat smoothly, rhythmically, vigorously, activates breathing, improves sleep.
I can confirm that all this is true, because our murraya has been blooming for five years and filling the bedroom with a magical healing aroma, and we fully feel its beneficial effect on ourselves.
And Murraya cheers up, as if you live next to an optimist who enjoys every day of his life, no matter what.
Murraya loves the sun, but she must be shaded from direct sunlight. We have the south side, and I put a flower on a table half a meter from the window. Here she grows all the time. In winter, of course, there is less sunlight, but Murraya can easily tolerate it.
The fruits of murraya can be compared with the fruits of hawthorn, inside there is a stone, which consists of two halves, each of which gives life to a new plant. From above, the fruit is covered with a bright red peel, and inside there is very little pulp. The taste of the fruit is complex, piquant. Since they have medicinal properties, they make alcohol tincture from them, it helps people suffering from heart ailments - coronary heart disease, heart failure, and is effective as a prevention of myocardial infarction. Here is her recipe: 2 tbsp. l fruits (you can take flowers) pour 250 ml of vodka and leave for 10 days. Take 10 drops 3 times a day before meals.
And from the leaves of murraya we make tincture, which is especially effective for severe headaches: 2 tbsp. pour 250 ml of vodka leaves and insist 10 days. You need to take 20-30 drops before meals. As you can see, everything is healing in Murray: flowers, leaves, and fruits.
Now about the breeding of murraya
Murraya cuttings are very difficult to root, but it is easy to grow from a seed. To do this, I take a Murraya berry, take out a bone and immediately, without drying it, plant it in a small glass cup filled with soil (two parts of turf land and one part of sand). First, I water the soil, and only then I stick a bone into it to a depth of 1 cm. Then I cover the cup with a plastic bag (I don’t tie the bottom for air access) and put it in partial shade.
After a month, the seed pecks and begins to grow rapidly. As soon as the shoots appear, I remove the bag. Further care of the plant is very simple: water as the soil dries. Water for irrigation should be warm, I dilute it with boiled water from the kettle. It is also useful from time to time to loosen the surface of the soil in a pot, this is also an important moment for the good development of the root system of the plant.
As soon as Murrayka is well rooted in the pot, you can transplant it into a larger pot (1-2 cm) without destroying the coma of the earth in which it grew. To do this, gently shake the plant out of the old pot and rearrange it in a new one with a lump of earth, and cover it with fresh earth on the sides and top. Watering well. Then I cover it with a plastic bag to create a greenhouse effect for the plant, and thus the plant takes root painlessly. After a week and a half, the package can be removed completely.
Fertilize for the first time during flowering with mineral fertilizer at each watering. The second time - during the ripening of the fruits, also for a month, and then a break.
I often try not to feed Murray with mineral fertilizer, because the plant already grows in a limited pot, where fertilizers accumulate in the soil. Once a year I try to change the topsoil in the pot to fresh.
In order not to fight pests, I advise you to do preventive spraying.
Murraya's trunk is white and seems to be covered with limescale. Lovers of cleanliness are often taken to scrap it. Do not do this - the plant will die!
