July crib calendar
In this article, we would like to recall the things that will come to gardeners and gardeners in July. You can find a detailed description of certain actions in the relevant articles, here we provide a short list-reminder.
Watering
July is usually the hottest month of the year. If July is arid, watering becomes the biggest concern. Water depending on precipitation and soil moisture. Pay attention to the rock garden and lawn. The lawn should be shed 10-15 cm. Water conifers whole or “bathe”. Remember to water the compost pile. After rains and watering, it is advisable to loosen the tree-trunk circles of trees and aisles in vegetable plants. Loosen carefully so as not to damage the roots of plants.

Weeding
Weed control continues in July with the same intensity as in June. It is useful to combine weeding with mulching, so that moisture after watering is better preserved. Collect weeds in containers and fill with water. After fermentation, use for radical top dressing.
Around the cherries and plums, it's time to remove the basal shoots.
Pay attention to root crops, if they are too crawled out of the soil, they can be slightly spud.
We cut and cut
In summer, some branches on fruit trees dry out. In this case, they must be cut, and the places of cut should be covered with garden var.
Do not forget to pay attention to grapes: remove stepsons and pinch the shoots.
At the same time, you can do the grafting of bushes, for example, roses and hydrangeas. At the beginning of July, grafting of conifers, for example, juniper and thuja, is possible.
Planting
In July, continue to plant greens on the table and onions on the feather. Plant perennial vegetable plants such as sorrel and chives.
It's time to plant a daikon, turnip and winter radish. Planted in July, turnip and daikon are well kept all winter.
Also in July, you can plant siderates: mustard, phacelia, lupine on green manure.
Picking berries
In July, raspberries, gooseberries, currants, cherries and other berry crops ripen. Recall that 4 weeks before picking berries, you must stop spraying the plants with chemicals.
Scare away birds
To protect the crop of berry crops from birds, you can use bright shiny strips of fabric or foil on the trees, pinwheels-weathercocks. A net thrown over a tree or bush also repels birds well.

We protect ourselves from diseases and pests
Another concern of July, for many, is the protection of tomatoes from late blight. In July, it may be necessary to protect cucumbers from spider mites, stem or root rot. In mid-July, you must protect yourself from vegetable flies.
We feed
Twice a month we feed roses, dahlias, chrysanthemums, gladioli, lilies. We feed fruit and berry crops with phosphorus-potash fertilizers, followed by watering. An excess of nitrogen can cause growth retardation of young shoots and in the winter they can freeze.
We remove faded inflorescences and collect seeds
In July, remove already faded inflorescences, leaving a few necessary for the seeds. Also collect ripened seeds of perennials and biennials. Do this when the inflorescences or boxes dry out.
Tie tall plants
To make tall plants even and look good, tie up and strengthen tall flowers: dahlias, gladioli, chrysanthemums, mallow.
Bulbous
In July, you can dig bulbous crops: tulips and daffodils. In July, lilies propagate with bulbs and divide bearded irises.
Strawberries
After harvesting, watering, fertilizing, weeding and loosening, removal of mustaches in the aisles are carried out. Perhaps rejuvenation (cutting) of old plants and planting new ones.
Tomatoes
In addition to protection against late blight, in July they perform the etching (cutting of the top in order to accelerate ripening) of tall and medium-tall tomatoes.
Apple trees and pears
In July, based on the fruits remaining after the June discharge of ovaries, one can determine the expected yield of apples and pears. If the harvest is expected to be plentiful, set up supports for tree branches. It is necessary to regularly clean the fallen fruits, to prevent the spread of pests and diseases.
